LEGENDARY BAND TO FILM "THERE'S KNOW PLACE LIKE HOME" LIVE DVD AT HISTORIC WHITE CONCERT HALL IN TOPEKA TO COMMEMORATE 35th ANNIVERSARY

PERFORMANCE WILL INCLUDE ALL THE BANDS' HIT SONGS, SPECIAL GUESTS AND A 50-PIECE ORCHESTRA

Los Angeles, CA - January 2009 - Legendary rock powerhouse KANSAS will return to Kansas on February 7, 2009 to film a live concert DVD, titled "There's Know Place Like Home," to commemorate the bands' 35th anniversary. The event at Washburn University's White Concert Hall will feature musical highlights spanning the collective's renowned catalogue, along with performances by special guests and the 50-piece Washburn University orchestra. Tickets are on sale now and available through the band's official website www.kansasband.com. All online ticket purchases at www.kansasband.com will include a final copy of the DVD upon its release, at no additional charge.

White Concert Hall holds a special significance for KANSAS, having performed there numerous times during the early '70s through the release of their first album in 1974. The hall was completely refurbished recently and features a beautiful grand pipe organ as well as playing host to the 50-piece Washburn University orchestra, both of which the band will be utilizing during the performance. Currently, KANSAS features founding members Phil Ehart on drums, Steve Walsh on keyboards/vocals, Richard Williams on guitar with long time bass player/vocalist Billy Greer and David Ragsdale on violin/guitar. Confirmed special guest appearances include original founding guitarist Kerry Livgren and former lead guitarist Steve Morse.

"KANSAS has always wanted to document our live show performing with a full symphony orchestra. To be able to film something like this at Washburn University in Topeka, with that awesome pipe organ and orchestra, will just make this an incredible event. I couldn't think of a better way to bring our music back home after 35 amazing years!" says Phil Ehart.

Produced by StarCity Recording Company's Jeff Glixman (long-time KANSAS producer) and partner Jim Gentile, the concert event will be filmed in high-definition for Blu-Ray and standard definition for the DVD release. Additionally, the DVD will be mixed in 5.1 surround sound and feature deluxe packaging containing a bonus audio CD as well as behind-the-scenes footage.

StarCity has tapped the team of Camp Digital, Steve Angus and Tom Gregory, to handle the shoot with Angus directing. Angus and Gregory have produced or co-produced events with some of the top names in music including Taylor Swift, Toby Keith, Dierks Bentley, and Kenny Chesney, as well as events such as "House of Blues presents The Warped Tour," and the live broadcast of Woodstock '99 for HBO, VH1 and other pay-per-view outlets The team will bring Camp Digital's newest High Definition production truck, Journey HD, in as the capture vehicle for video along with JDM Mobile to multi-track record the audio for this monumental occasion.

Forming in Topeka, KS in 1970, KANSAS' self-titled debut album was first released in 1974. The band appeared on the Billboard charts for over 200 weeks during the 70s and 80s while playing to sold-out arenas and stadiums throughout North America, Europe and Japan.

The band has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide, including three multi-platinum releases, one platinum live album and eight gold albums with hit singles "Carry On Wayward Son" achieving gold status and "Dust In the Wind" reaching gold sales status in 1978 and again in 2005 with digital download sales.
